For coaches and practitioners who do their own work

Finally move the thing in your own life that no training has reached.

You’ve spent years and thousands on excellent training. There’s still one thing in you that hasn’t moved.

Three live workshops at the root underneath everything you’ve trained in, which is where that pattern is actually held. You’ll leave with the order your existing training was missing, and the roadmap you can start using the same day.

You can list them in order.

The book that started it. The certification you took because someone said it changed everything for her. The somatic training. The parts work. The retreat that cost more than your first car.

Most of them brought you real insights. (Some of them, you’d rather not talk about.) And there is still one thing in your own life that has not moved in years.

That’s the part almost nobody says out loud. You are able to take another person through real transformation, week after week, and this thing in you has outlasted every year of it.

You can probably name it without thinking about it.

  • The same argument with your partner, running for nine years
  • Sessions that run long, a fee you haven’t raised, a client you should have released
  • Coming home from a full day with nothing left for the people who live there
  • The habit you’ve decided to end twice, and already know you’ll decide again

There’s a reason for that, and it’s the same one for almost every practitioner I’ve taught.

Every one of your trainings gave you a tool to work with, and a layer to work on. None of them gave you the root layer, or the order to work them in. Which leaves you with a dozen good tools and no way to actually make them work.

That doesn’t show up as a gap. It feels like missing knowledge, or something wrong with you. So you go and get more knowledge, you look for the next fix… and the moment comes around again, and you’re standing in the same place with a heavier bag of tools.

Why none of it reached the root.

Almost everything you have trained in works at one of three levels:

  1. Behavior.

What you do. Habits, structure, accountability, discipline.

  2. Thoughts.

The story running in your head. Mindset, reframing, beliefs, NLP, most coaching, CBT.

  3. State.

Your nervous system, and how you feel in your body. Breathwork, somatics, energy work, regulation, meditation.

All three are powerful. Yet they are symptoms.

Emotions

Your emotions decide all three: what you do, what you believe about it, and what your body is doing while it happens. They’re the invisible root cause underneath the three layers.

And working the layers while ignoring the root is like trying to cure a cold by refusing to cough.

Now go through your own trainings against that list. Nearly all of them sit in one of the three.

A few reach toward the root. You’ve done emotional work, like almost everyone I teach. Yet none of it is built on the root.

Which is why you can name your own state, in real time, using vocabulary you paid a lot of money for, and still react exactly the way you always have. Why you can know precisely which part is telling the story, and still have it run the show at three o'clock on a Thursday. And why you can even calm yourself down when triggered, and still not move the thing you’ve been trying to move for years.

Almost nobody teaches at the root itself, which is the reason a dozen trainings never reached it.

It’s where we work for all three lessons.

“I’d done many courses before this one. The way it is structured helped much of the knowledge I already had finally fall into place, and gave me an awareness of when and how to use different tools. Most of all, it finally allowed me to achieve a sense of inner safety that I had never felt before.”

What each lesson leaves you with

Lesson oneWhy it hasn’t moved.

You’ve had the tools to shift this for years. Here’s what has been holding it.

Your pattern is doing something for you, and until you know what, it won’t let go. This lesson names it.

What you’ll leave with: the reason your own thing has held, specific enough to act on.

Lesson twoThe order.

Real, lifelong emotional transformation rests on three foundations that follow an order. Get that order wrong and the work stalls.

Where each of your trainings sits in that sequence, and what exactly has been missing from your work and keeping you from breaking through.

What you’ll leave with: everything you already own, in order, plus the element you were missing.

Lesson threeYour roadmap.

Where everything comes together: the six stages of this work, laid over the thing you actually came in with.

Where you are on it right now, which stage you’re working at in which part of your life, and what your next move is.

What you’ll leave with: your own map, the stage you’re actually at, and what you need to do to move to the next one.

“So far, this is one of the most impactful sessions, online or otherwise, that I have attended. The level of organization, the relevance of the content, and the whole approach have been extremely well designed and executed.”

Where this goes

Three lessons will give you the diagnosis, the order, and your own roadmap. The rest takes doing the actual work, which is what the roadmap is for.

So it’s worth knowing what the rest looks like.

In your own life.

The thing that hasn’t moved in years starts moving. Hard emotions stop being an emergency. You stop needing another person to help you make sense of your own inner life.

In the room.

You stop bracing before the four o’clock. You’re in the session rather than managing the session. A client reaches the real thing and you can stay there with her, because you’ve been there yourself.

At the end of the event, I’ll show you the program where I take you through the entire journey, for the practitioners who want to do it with my support. You’ll have had three full lessons of the work first, and you can decide then.

“When I started, I had been working as a coach for 15 years. Coaching and positive psychology felt lacking in how they deal with difficult emotions, too often coming down to ‘just be happy,’ which didn’t work when real anger, fear or sadness were blocking me or a client.

Now I have an easy pathway to managing emotions, so I don’t have to be afraid of them. I feel so much more present with my family, and just being with my kids and getting to know them again has been an enormous gift. I’ve gone beyond using this for myself and I’m bringing it into my work with clients. I want for them what I’ve experienced.”

Is this for you?

This is for you if:

  • There’s one thing in your own life you still haven’t been able to move. You watched a client break through something on Tuesday and drove home to the same thing you’ve had for fifteen years
  • You came to this work because it changed you first, and you wanted to give people what you were given
  • You’ve trained in several things, some of them excellent, and in the moment that matters it feels more confusing and overwhelming than empowering and effective

This isn’t for you if:

  • You’re looking for another modality to add to the list. This puts what you already have in order and makes it start working. If a longer list is what you’re after, it will frustrate you
  • You want training that stays professional and would rather your own material stayed out of it. This is mainly about your own work, and that is what shows up in the room with clients. There’s no version you can learn from a safe distance and then deliver
  • You want to understand your emotions without having to work with them. Understanding is important and we do plenty of it here, usually more than you’ve ever done. Transformation lives in the real work, and understanding alone is often one of the more sophisticated forms of avoidance there is

A note from me

There’s a line we say in our field: you can’t take a client somewhere you haven’t been yourself. I believe that more than I believe anything on a CV, and it’s the only reason I’d ask you to listen to me.

So here’s where I’ve been.

At seventeen, through a spontaneous and intense awakening, I started meditating on my own, no teacher, nothing to go on. And I went to work on my own material: the fears, the shadows, all of it.

I’ve been doing this work ever since, even though the path was at times rough and took my life apart. Yet now my life is nothing like before.

When something painful happens, I feel it all the way through, and it moves. I can sit with someone in the worst hour of their life and go home whole. There’s more of me left for the people I love, and more room to let them love me back. I can be happy on an ordinary Tuesday when nothing in particular is going right. My friends and family joke that it irritates them how calm I stay when things fall apart. What actually happened is that my inner life stopped depending on whether my outer life was cooperating.

Then I looked around at the people I love. Almost all of them were stuck in something, and not getting free even if they tried. That’s when this became my work.

I took my own practice and wisdom as my foundation, and then I went and studied everything I could find. From my medical training, to cutting-edge neuroscience and psychology, to millennia-old contemplative traditions, I’ve integrated them all into my approach. The nervous system and the soul are both real, and I won’t ask you to leave either one at the door.

So then I put them in order.

Most of them worked better once my foundation was underneath them. That order is what I’ve taught for ten years now, to more than two thousand people. I focus on coaches, therapists, and practitioners now because they go furthest with it, and because what you do with it reaches everyone you sit with.

Filipe

Dr. Filipe Rocha is a medical doctor and the founder of the Emotional Mastery Academy, where he has taught emotional work for ten years. He has studied and practiced more than fifty tools, traditions and programs, from neuroscience, psychology, trauma work, hypnotherapy and coaching through to transpersonal and Buddhist practice. He took the Cultivating Emotional Balance certification at nineteen, under Dr. Eve Ekman and Dr. Alan Wallace, and quickly became one of its most active teachers in the world. His approach draws on all of it. The part he trusts most comes from his own practice and inner work, which is the same thing he’ll ask of you. Students have described his sessions as magic, and as worth ten years of therapy.

You knew which one before you finished the list.

It has outlasted every training you’ve taken, and it will outlast the next one too, because the next one will work at the same level the last twelve did.
