My recent emotional experience began when I noticed my dog’s intermittent limping, which reminded me of a previous dog I had with hip dysplasia. This memory, combined with my current dog’s condition, led me to worry. This worry manifested both physically, as tightness in my body, and mentally, as restrictive, ruminative thoughts.

I recognized that I was creating stories in my mind, primarily focused on whether my current dog also has hip dysplasia. Initially, this worry didn’t lead me to take action. However, upon realizing the impact of my worry, I decided to step back and try to let go of it. I then took proactive steps, such as scheduling a vet appointment and waiting for X-ray results.

I found that the initial phase of worry was useful as it spurred me into action. But once its purpose was served, I realized the importance of letting it go to avoid wasting time and energy and to protect my own well-being. So, I chose to release this worry.
